How to verify expense reports and enable verification from admin settings

Updated over 7 months ago

Expense report verification is an optional and additional step after approval and before marking the reports closed. The verifier goes through expenses in an expense report individually checking the details before moving the report to the Closed status.

Enable verification from admin settings

To enable verification, you can do so from your admin settings. Select the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen.

From the left side panel select Workflows and select Advanced.

Under the table for Expense Reports, toggle Verification to Yes.

Note: If you approve and verify your expense reports, toggle Self Verification and Self approvals to Yes. This will allow you to approve and verify your reports.

Once the verification is enabled, the option to verify reports will be visible.

How to verify expense reports

To verify an expense report the report must be approved. To begin verification, go to the Expense reports page and open the Approved section.

Select the report to verify by the checkbox and select Verify.

A review pop-up screen will open, go through each expense in the report and select Verify and next.

A green check will indicate all the expenses in the report are verified.

Note: Once verification is enabled, all expense reports have to be verified to close them. This step cannot be skipped.
