How to restrict your users from adding expenses with pending transactions to the expense reports

Updated over 2 weeks ago

As an admin, you may notice your users submit the expenses with pending transaction status to expense reports and see them in the approval queue. As the pending transactions may not have the final amount of the transaction, this may cause a mismatch in the amount you see on the bank statement.

You can now control the flow of such expenses to the approval cycle from the Advanced settings. You can select whether to allow the expenses with pending transaction status to be added to expense reports or block them. Read this article to know more about the transaction status.

Steps to restrict the pending transactions from reports

  • Go to Settings > Workflow > Advanced

  • Under Expense Reports, you can find a new toggle setting

  • Enable the setting to restrict your employees from adding pending transactions to reports.

Note that the automatic report submission will also exclude "Pending" transactions.
