Set project approvers

Updated over a week ago

If you have an approval process based on projects in your business, you can apply project approvers and set project approvals so the expenses go through the same approval process.

To set project-wise approvals, there are two steps required to get the process running: adding project approvers to the projects and setting a workflow for the approvals.

Add Project Approvers

Select Settings from the top-right corner.

Open Expenses and select Projects. Select one of the listed projects or create a new project.

In the pop-up box, scroll down and add email addresses under Project approver.

Select Update Project to save your changes.

The approvers are added to the projects. For the expenses to be routed to the project approvers, you'll have to define the workflow accordingly.

Define a project approval workflow

From the admin settings, select Workflows and select Project approvals.

Select the Add project approvals button to set up a workflow.

Select the required project from the drop-down.

Note: Only projects with assigned project approvers will be visible under the drop-down.

Choose whether or not the expenses for selected projects should be submitted for approval by employee approvers. Use the toggle below to make this decision.

When the toggle is turned on, the expense report will require approval from employee approvers. Consequently, expenses associated with the selected projects will be presented to the employee approvers, and the project approver will receive a notification.

Select Save to finish setting up the workflow.

Expenses associated with the selected projects will adhere to the approval process outlined in the workflow conditions.
