As an approver, if there are any discrepancies in the expense details, you can choose to send the expense report back to the spender for updates. Spenders are required to re-submit expense reports once the required changes are made. You can send back expense reports with a submitted or approved status.
To send back an expense report, select Team from your left-side panel.
Select Expense reports from the dropdown menu.
Note: Expense reports with the closed status cannot be sent back to the spenders.
Select the expense report that needs to be sent back.
In the report view, select the 3-dots icon in the top right corner.
From the dropdown menu, select the Send back button.
In the pop-up box, enter a reason for sending back the expense report to the spender. Mention any changes that are required so spenders can do so effectively.
Select the Send back button to finish.
Once the report is sent back to the spender they'll be notified via email. The status of the expense report will change to Sent back and the reason will be listed under the Comments section of the report.
Spenders can view the comments make relevant changes, and resubmit the expense report for approval.
